Hello all, I'm just curious if anyone in the group has worked on migrating courses that rely heavily on Kaltura media to Canvas. It doesn't appear to be something that a standard export/import job can handle. If you've transferred courses with Kaltura media from one system to Canvas - what approach did you take? Any suggestions or past…(Show moreShow less)
I am at a campus that is now migrating from Bb to Canvas. I've kept a blog of my personal experience: Moving From Blackboard to Canvas – Summer is Comi... Today, I posted on my first 'hack' of Canvas. Using a tool for the purpose it was not originally intended. I have a Group Set stand in for a discussion topic sign-up sheet. Woo Hoo!
Hi there, Michael Taylor and Welcome to the Canvas Community! You've found a great resource as you transition from your previous LMS to Canvas and I hope your time here is as fruitful as mine has been. I am going to share your question with the Canvas Admins group as they should be able to help you out with your reporting question and whatPreviewHide preview
Hi Andy Starr When we migrated from Angel many years ago, while we advised faculty to simply start fresh and import only what was needed, many chose to import everything. Many things did not import well, and assessments and assessment item banks were one of those, and The import files were only identified by a random character stringPreviewHide preview
Hi Paul Art, and welcome to Canvas and the Canvas Community! I understand how hard LMS migrations are. I have been through five and lead three of them at my schools. I am unable to understand how you guys keep getting account after new account with the kind of lousy UX design you have. I think some of the reasons that Canvas has gainedPreviewHide preview
Dave, I don't have hands-on experience with this, but was able to find this resource in Powerschool documentation: How do I export my class content in Common Cartrid... - PowerSchool Community , and since Canvas supports Common Cartridge imports, this would seem to be possible: How do I import content from Common Cartridge or Blackboard 6/7/8/9…
Hi all, I could't tell if this was asked here already, but please forgive any redundancy. In Blackboard, we have a wide use of Organizations (Basically shells which are not associated with courses or enrollments in the SIS). These are used for study groups, video repositories, faculty groups, clubs, etc. So the question is, what have you…(Show moreShow less)
Yeah...that sounds like a workable solution to me! You might want to test things out in a sample "sandbox" course, and then once you are able to confirm that everything is working the way you want...create the actual course shell that will be used with students in it. Good luck!
Hi I am trying to replicate a similar feature on Canvas to the "book" tool in Moodle. Principally I would like to add chapters or sections to the "Pages" tool and have quick navigation for students to access different sections or elements within that section. Some of our proposed courses starting in September will have such a large amount…(Show moreShow less)
Hi there, James Hull and Welcome to the Canvas Community! I'm a tad biased, but I think you've found a great spot of international Canvas users! I'll admit, as I started reading your message I immediately thought "MODULES!"...but alas, you say that won't work for your use case! So, I'm going to share this with a couple groups for you in anPreviewHide preview
